{"id":2274,"date":"2023-02-21T06:47:45","date_gmt":"2023-02-21T06:47:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ppnewsline.in\/?p=2274"},"modified":"2023-02-21T06:47:47","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T06:47:47","slug":"after-four-inches-of-snowfall-in-gulmarg-met-predicts-dry-weather-in-jk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ppnewsline.in\/?p=2274","title":{"rendered":"After four inches of snowfall in Gulmarg, MeT predicts dry weather in J&amp;K"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Srinagar, Feb 21<\/strong>: Parts of Kashmir Valley received rains and snowfall while meteorological department(MeT) predicted mainly dry weather from Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quoting a MeT official, GNS reported that upper reaches received fresh snowfall with the skiing resort of Gulmarg recording 10 cms (4 inches) till 0830 hours today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said that while Srinagar had traces of rain during the time, Qazigund recorded 4.3mm, Pahalgam 4.3mm, Kupwara 7.6mm, Kokernag 4.2mm, Banihal 0.6mm, Batote 0.2mm and Bhadarwah 1.4mm of rains.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding temperature, he said, Srinagar recorded a low of 5.0\u00b0C against the previous night\u2019s 5.3\u00b0C . Today\u2019s minimum temperature, he said, was above normal by 4.1\u00b0C for the summer capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 4.7\u00b0C against 3.7\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 4.8\u00b0C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 0.8\u00b0C against minus 1.7\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 4.8\u00b0C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir\u2019s Anantnag district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kokernag recorded a low of 3.7\u00b0C, the same as on the previous night and it was 4.4\u00b0C above normal for the place, the officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gulmarg recorded a low of minusv3.5\u00b0C against 0.2\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 3.2\u00b0C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir\u2019s Baramulla district, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 3.1\u00b0C against 4.5\u00b0C on the previous night and it was 3.4\u00b0C above normal for the north Kashmir area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jammu recorded a low of 13.7\u00b0C against 15.5\u00b0C on the previous night. It was 3.1\u00b0C above normal for J&amp;K\u2019s winter capital, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 6.2\u00b0C (above normal by 5.0\u00b0C), Batote 7.6\u00b0C (above normal by 4.1\u00b0C), Katra 11.7\u00b0C (3.2\u00b0C above normal) and Bhadarwah 4.7\u00b0C (4.1\u00b0C above normal).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ladakh\u2019s Leh recorded a low of minus 5.6\u00b0C, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The MeT has forecast mainly clear weather at most places in next 24 hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From February 22-25, the official said that mainly clear to partly cloudy weather was expected at most places.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Feb 26-27, he said generally cloudy weather with possibility of light rain\/snowfall over higher reaches at scattered places.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Srinagar, Feb 21: Parts of Kashmir Valley received rains and snowfall while meteorological department(MeT) predicted mainly dry weather from Tuesday in Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp; Quoting a MeT official, GNS reported that upper reaches received fresh snowfall with the skiing resort of Gulmarg recording 10 cms (4 inches) till 0830 hours today.
