Singh praised Patel\u2019s role in integrating over 560 princely states to form the Indian Union after independence, but noted that Patel was not allowed to handle Jammu &amp; Kashmir due to Jawaharlal Nehru\u2019s belief that he knew the region better. Singh criticized Nehru\u2019s decision to declare a unilateral ceasefire, which prevented Indian forces from retaking the present \u2018Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir\u2019 from intruders. Singh argued that if Patel had been given a free hand, the history of the Indian subcontinent would have been different, and PoJK would not exist today. Singh also highlighted the significance of \u2018Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,\u2019 which Modi declared on Patel\u2019s 140th birth anniversary in 2015, and argued that Modi\u2019s actions had corrected the anomaly of Article 370 and 35A in J&amp;K. Singh further discussed how the North East had undergone significant development under Modi\u2019s leadership, and the region had become a model of \u2018Vikas\u2019 for the rest of India.
