As the region anticipates its first Assembly elections since the reorganization of the state into two Union Territories\u2014Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh\u2014the upcoming elections hold a profound significance for the people, the political landscape, and the national discourse.<\/p>\n

These elections represent not only the restoration of electoral politics in the region but also a critical litmus test for the Modi government\u2019s decision to revoke the special status that Jammu and Kashmir once enjoyed.
