Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)<\/strong> has announced Rajat Patidar<\/strong> as their captain for the upcoming IPL season, set to begin on March 21<\/strong>. Patidar, who was retained by the franchise ahead of last year\u2019s mega auction, brings leadership experience to the team, having captained Madhya Pradesh<\/strong> in both the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20)<\/strong> and the Vijay Hazare Trophy (ODI)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The 31-year-old right-hander<\/strong>, who joined RCB in 2022<\/strong>, had a standout season leading Madhya Pradesh<\/strong> to the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy<\/strong>. Despite losing to Mumbai<\/strong> by five wickets in the final, Patidar\u2019s leadership was widely recognized. He was also the second-highest run-scorer<\/strong> in the tournament, amassing 428 runs<\/strong> from 10 matches<\/strong> at an impressive average of 61<\/strong> and a strike rate of 186.08<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Before the official announcement, there had been speculation that Virat Kohli<\/strong> might return as the captain of RCB.
