Union Minister for Railways and Information & Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw<\/strong> today asserted that Pakistan no longer poses a threat<\/strong>, terrorism is unacceptable in any form<\/strong>, and Indian citizens across the world feel secure<\/strong>\u2014a transformation achieved under the 11-year tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s Government<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Vaishnaw made these remarks during a press conference in New Delhi alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh<\/strong>, BJP National President and Union Health Minister JP Nadda<\/strong>, and Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari<\/strong>, held to mark the 11th anniversary of the Modi-led government at the Centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo One Believed Article 370 Could Be Removed\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Vaishnaw emphasized the historic and bold decisions taken by the Government, including the abrogation of Article 370<\/strong>, which granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
\u201cNo one believed it could be done, but Prime Minister Modi showed the resolve<\/strong>. The abrogation has changed the ground situation dramatically,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Referring to his recent visit to Jammu during the launch of the train service to Katra<\/strong> and the inauguration of the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River<\/strong>, Vaishnaw recalled speaking with a J&K Police constable.
\u201cThe constable confirmed that the situation has significantly improved since the abrogation,\u201d the Minister said.<\/p>\n

From Terror Strikes to Defence Exports: India\u2019s Strategic Shift<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Vaishnaw underlined India’s strong and effective response to terrorism and internal security threats:<\/p>\n

    Surgical strikes (2016)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Air strikes in Balakot (2019)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Operation Sindoor (2025)<\/strong> \u2013 a recent military operation that targeted terrorist infrastructure deep inside Pakistan and PoJK<\/strong>, launched in response to the April 22 terror attack<\/strong> in Pahalgam<\/strong>, which claimed 26 civilian lives<\/strong>, including 25 tourists.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u201cThese actions showcase India\u2019s increasing capability, most of which has been made possible using indigenous defence technology<\/strong>. We are now a major defence exporter<\/strong>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

    The Minister also noted the shrinking of the Red Corridor<\/strong>, indicating success in curbing Left-wing extremism<\/strong>.
    \u201cIn the North-East too, violence has dropped sharply due to effective measures,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

    Operation Sindoor & India\u2019s Military Resolve<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Operation Sindoor, conducted from May 6 to May 10<\/strong>, targeted terror camps, launch pads, and command centres in PoJK.
    According to officials, Pakistan retaliated by targeting civilian areas in Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, Uri, and Tangdhar<\/strong>. However, India remained steadfast and focused on dismantling terror infrastructure.<\/p>\n

    Security Achievements Highlighted in Government Report<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    A booklet released during the press conference highlighted several key milestones:<\/p>\n
