11 lawyers from across India have petitioned Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Chairperson, NHRC, over two shocking incidents in Jammu: the public beating of an accused in Gangyal, and a theft suspect paraded with a garland of shoes.<\/p>\n

These acts violate Article 21, Supreme Court rulings, and basic human dignity. The lawyers demand an independent inquiry, strict action against officers, and urgent police reform.<\/p>\n

India is ruled by law, not by humiliation.
