PP News Line Desk : National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq , on Monday said that the violence at the Hazratbal shrine was a spontaneous reaction to a violation of religious sentiments and demanded strict action against those responsible, including the Vice-Chairperson of the Waqf Board. He urged the formation of a\u00a0 House Committee\u00a0 to probe alleged irregularities in allotments and tenders by the Board. Speaking to reporters, Sadiq condemned the violence but emphasized that it was triggered by misuse of the state emblem at the shrine.\u00a0 \u201cViolence is no one\u2019s answer. We can fix it better, but because religious sentiments were broken, what people did was a spontaneous response,\u201d\u00a0 he said. Calling misuse of the emblem a serious violation, Sadiq demanded accountability. *\u201cFirst there should be action against the Vice-Chairperson. Whoever misuses the state emblem must face consequences,\u201d\u00a0 he said. He also criticized the police for \u201cintimidating people\u201d instead of handling the situation amicably. Sadiq further pressed for a House Committee inquiry\u00a0 into irregularities in allotments and contracts issued without due procedure.\u00a0 \u201cWe want an investigation, and all those involved should be punished,\u201d\u00a0 he added. Recalling the contributions of Sheikh Abdullah in building the Hazratbal shrine, Sadiq said the legacy of the\u00a0 Muslim Auqaf Trust, now Waqf Board , must not be tarnished.<\/p>\n
