Srinagar, October 7, 2025 — The weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain mostly dry in the coming days, according to the latest forecast from the Meteorological Department.
While a few southern and hilly areas such as Kishtwar, Doda, Anantnag, Ramban, Udhampur, and Kathua may witness brief showers during the early part of the day, the overall conditions are likely to stay clear and pleasant.
The dry spell is expected to continue till around October 20, with only isolated pockets receiving light rainfall at times.
In the higher reaches, winter signs have started to appear. Zojila Pass has recorded temperatures as low as minus eight degrees Celsius with nearly five to six inches of snowfall, while Sinthan Top has seen about eight to nine inches of snow. Daksum has also received light snowfall of around one to two inches.
The clear weather is likely to benefit travelers and outdoor activities across most districts. However, officials have advised motorists to remain cautious while driving on mountain routes like Zojila and Sinthan, where snow and slippery surfaces may still pose risks.
The dry spell follows recent spells of rain and snow that affected parts of the region last week.
