The five-day Public Dialogue Journey (Jan-Samvad Yatra), organized under the leadership of Rajasthan Government’s Cabinet Minister and regional MLA Mr. Madan Dilawar in the Chechat area of Ramganjmandi assembly constituency, concluded successfully on June 1. Commencing on May 28, this journey covered a distance of approximately 110 kilometers, passing through various village councils (panchayats) and villages. Whenever the procession passed through a village or populated area, citizens accorded it a grand welcome by presenting garlands, showering flower petals, and chanting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” The core objective of the journey was to listen directly to the grievances of the common public, bring the administration right to the doorsteps of the villages, and ensure on-the-spot resolutions.
Despite the scorching Nautapa (the peak summer period) and temperatures hovering between 42 to 45 degrees Celsius, a large number of men and women participated in the march on foot. The journey operated daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with only limited breaks taken for meals. Special arrangements for drinking water, first aid, and medicines were also made for the convenience of the citizens.
The biggest highlight of this journey was that it did not remain a mere foot march but emerged as a mobile public grievance redressal and administrative resolution campaign. Wherever the procession reached villages and panchayats, public meetings were organized, and Minister Madan Dilawar himself sat among the citizens to establish a direct dialogue. Along with providing details about government-run schemes, development projects, and achievements, he also reviewed the progress reports of relevant ongoing projects. After listening to the grievances raised by the citizens, efforts were made to resolve them on the spot in the presence of administrative officers. The public viewed this initiative as a positive working style that strengthens communication and trust between the government and the people.
The entire administrative machinery accompanied Minister Madan Dilawar during the journey, including the Tehsildar, BDO (Block Development Officer), VDO (Village Development Officer), AENs, JENs, and officials associated with irrigation, road construction, and school infrastructure. In the presence of these officers, sanctions and directives were issued for drinking water, roads, drain construction, repair of school buildings, community centers, and cremation grounds. Additionally, issues related to old-age pensions, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and the Food Security Scheme were resolved immediately.
Colonel Dev Anand Lohamaror, a senior leader of the Gurjar community and a prominent BJP leader, also actively participated in this journey. Addressing citizens at various locations, including Hisaliya, he spoke extensively on veteran welfare, developmental projects, the establishment of Sainik Schools and Girls’ Sainik Schools, and national issues. Conveying the efforts made by the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Central Government toward strengthening national security, he stated that the current government is working effectively to keep the nation’s security vigilant and robust. He highlighted subjects such as the modernization of the armed forces, indigenous manufacturing of defense weapons and advanced technology, self-reliance in defense production, and India’s rising prestige and the growing honor of the Tricolor on the global stage. According to him, these steps taken by the government are providing new strength to India from military, technological, and diplomatic perspectives.
Colonel Lohamaror stated that the conceptualization of the Girls’ Sainik School and the effort to bring it to fruition is the result of a historic and visionary mindset. He praised the initiative taken by Mr. Madan Dilawar in this direction, stating that he deserves high commendation. According to him, providing an educational framework like a Sainik School for girls is a significant initiative for India, which will offer the daughters of Rajasthan an opportunity to receive military education. In the future, this will enable them to serve the nation by reaching the ranks of military officers and other pivotal positions.
He further noted that it is a rare and unprecedented sight to see an MLA and Cabinet Minister visiting village after village alongside administrative officials to listen to citizens’ grievances and ensure direct redressal. According to him, organizing the journey during Nautapa was a practical decision, as most rural residents are present in their villages during this period, making it possible to reach the maximum number of people and resolve their issues effectively.
Special emphasis was also laid on environmental conservation during the journey. Citizens were sensitized on themes such as the harmful impact of plastic usage, cleanliness, wildlife conservation, cow protection, and tobacco cessation. Furthermore, the use of plastic bottles was strictly avoided throughout the event.
The participation of women in the journey was particularly remarkable. Deliberations were held on topics related to women empowerment, girls’ education, and social awareness. Information regarding efforts to promote Girls’ Sainik Schools and women’s literacy was also conveyed to the citizens, which was received with great enthusiasm by the women present.
On the occasion of the conclusion, Minister Madan Dilawar and Colonel Dev Anand Lohamaror stated that the journey successfully achieved its designated objectives and served as an effective medium to bring the government and administration directly to the public. Village heads (Sarpanches), block presidents, chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, BJP workers, and a vast number of local citizens remained present throughout the duration of the journey.
