PP NEWS LINE DESK : District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Kathua, Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, today participated in an event at Community Health Centre (CHC) Basohli to witness the live telecast of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s launch of the nationwide programme *“Swasth Nari, Shashakt Parivar”* from Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
The programme at CHC Basohli was organized under the supervision of Dr. Rajnish Sharma, BMO, along with his team of doctors, paramedical staff, ASHA workers, and prominent social and political personalities including Sushma Jamwal (Ex-BDC Chairperson), Yubkarn Singh (Senior BJP functionary), Ramesh Singh, Bunty Madjyal, Rajinder Singh (Sarpanch), media persons and others.
The event concluded with participants taking an oath to promote female healthcare, followed by the chanting of the *Rashtriya Gaan*.
Later, Col Mahan Singh inspected various OPDs, patient wards, the medical store, and the laboratory at CHC Basohli. He interacted with patients, doctors, and on-duty staff to review available facilities and services.
The DDC Chairman lauded the initiatives of the Modi Government for women empowerment and appealed to the public to avail benefits of ongoing health schemes, including the upcoming medical screenings scheduled across more than 100 health and welfare centres in Kathua district. He informed that a series of medical check-up camps and blood donation camps will soon be organized at PHCs, CHCs, district hospitals, and trauma centres.
Highlighting the shortage of doctors, particularly in sub-district hospitals and remote areas, Col Singh urged the UT Government to fill vacant positions at the earliest to strengthen healthcare delivery for the public.
