New Delhi : Trinamul Congress has officially disclosed the names of district presidents and chairpersons across the state. Mamata Banerjee, the party’s chairperson, reviewed and approved the list of district presidents. Despite speculations surrounding the party’s stance on MP Mahua Moitra, who faced allegations in the cash-for-query case, Banerjee appointed her as the president of the Nadia Krishnanagar unit, with Rukbanur Rahaman as the district chairperson.
Professor Ashis Banerjee has been assigned the role of chairman for the Birbhum unit, while the district president’s position remains vacant pending the appointment of Anubrata Mondol. The party has also made strategic appointments, such as Manish Gupta as the chairperson of the south Kolkata unit and Debashis Kumar retaining the position of district president.
Sudip Bandyopadhyay continues as the president of the party’s north Kolkata unit, with the chairman’s position left vacant. Biswajit Das, an MLA who recently joined Trinamul Congress from BJP, now leads the party’s North 24-Parganas (Bongaon unit). Additionally, four party leaders—Mridul Goswami, Shaoni Singha Roy, Kanai Chandra Mandal, and Soumen Mohapatra—have been appointed as state secretaries.
As the Lok Sabha elections approach, Trinamul Congress is focusing on strengthening its organization, encouraging party leaders up to the block level to establish connections with the people. A Bijoya Sammelani was held in all 294 Assembly constituencies to engage individuals from various walks of life. Mamata Banerjee is expected to announce the party’s roadmap during an address at Netaji Indoor Stadium on November 23, emphasizing strategies to expose the saffron party before the upcoming elections. Party leaders are eagerly anticipating the instructions she will provide from the stage.
